OMS Methodology
How Is Litecoin + Dogecoin Profitability Calculated?
A Scrypt ASIC can merge-mine Litecoin and Dogecoin. OMS keeps the two native rewards separate, values each at its own historical price, then adds them together to calculate gross revenue. The product chart shows observed historical data only.
1. Two Networks, Two Rewards
Merged mining lets the same Scrypt work count toward both chains. DOGE should not be artificially converted into LTC, and the miner's hashrate should not be counted twice.
OMS therefore calculates a daily LTC amount and a daily DOGE amount, then converts each into the selected currency.
2. Verifiable Network Data
The historical daily series use each asset's hashrate, block count, issuance, fees and price. Consensus values can be checked with Litecoin Core and Dogecoin Core.
Useful RPC calls: getblockchaininfo, getblockhash, getblock, getnetworkhashps and, for Dogecoin merged mining, getauxblock.
3. LTC and DOGE Formula
Gross revenue = value of LTC/day + value of DOGE/day. Net profit = gross revenue - daily electricity cost.
4. Current Consensus Rewards
Litecoin currently pays 6.25 LTC per block before fees, until its next halving expected in 2027. Dogecoin pays a fixed 10,000 DOGE per block. Because OMS uses the coins actually issued each day, reward changes are reflected automatically.
Pool fees, rejected shares, downtime and hardware performance variations remain specific to each setup.
5. Historical Chart
The 3-month, 6-month and 1-year views contain only days already observed. Each data point combines historical data from both chains with their prices on that day.
6. Monthly and Annual
The monthly and annual amounts shown in the calculator annualize the current pace. They are not a forecast of price, difficulty, network hashrate or future revenue.
